Cant download apps! HELP!

Recently upgraded my iMac with the new El Capitan update. Everything is awesome but then came to realize I am unable to download any apps from the app store. Cant update any of my current apps either. Im not sure what the problem is but its pretty frustrating. Everything else works great. Just not happy with the fact that I can’t download any new apps or programs. Anyone have the same issue? PLEASE HELP!!
